James Kinville, MA
Senior Director, LifeSolutions

Mr. Kinville is the Senior Director of LifeSolutions and has over 20 years of EAP/Work-Life experience in managed care and specialty health management. In his role, he will direct LifeSolutions' strategic agenda and lead staff that delivers EAP services to local, regional, national, and international customers and clients. Mr. Kinville will provide leadership coaching and organization consultation for LifeSolutions' diverse set of clients.

Before joining Workpartners, he served in several executive roles and was responsible for directing EAP and Work-Life services for diverse and large populations. Mr. Kinville also has experience overseeing the operations of Care Management Centers and developing several programs to aide in the overall success of EAP utilization and patient outcomes, while reducing readmission rates and costs.

Mr. Kinville earned his bachelor's degree in psychology and organizational development from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI and his Masters in Clinical Psychology and Substance Abuse Studies from the University of Detroit.

Brandon C. McKinney, MD, PhD
LifeSolutions Medical Director

Dr. McKinney earned his MD and PhD in neuroscience from the University of Michigan School of Medicine and completed his residency training in psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh. He subsequently trained as a postdoctoral scholar in the University of Pittsburgh Department of Psychiatry’s Training for Transformative Discovery Program.

He is currently funded by a K23 Career Development Award from the National Institute of Mental Health to study the regulation of gene expression by DNA methylation in schizophrenia. His studies use postmortem brain tissue from individuals with schizophrenia, primary neuronal cultures, and cutting-edge molecular and statistical approaches to genomic/epigenetic data in order to identify epigenetic drug targets and novel treatment approaches.

Clinically, he is interested psychiatric emergency services and integrated behavioral health care in the primary care setting. He also has a private practice in which he evaluates and treats adults with a broad range of psychiatric disorders.

Suzan Clark, MeD, CEAP
Program Director

Ms. Clark manages the day-to-day operations of LifeSolutions, oversees quality and is a member of the Workpartners team responsible for integrated service delivery in absence management, health management, workers compensation and on-site clinics.

She has worked in the employee assistance field for 14 years and has extensive experience in the psychiatric assessment of child/adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. She previously served as a research clinician, specializing in the assessment of personality disorders and the treatment of anxiety disorders.

Ms. Clark earned her master's degree in rehabilitation counseling from the University of Pittsburgh. She is certified employee assistance professional (CEAP).

Nancy J. McKee, RN, LPC, CAADC
Clinical Director

As LifeSolutions Clinical Manager, Ms. McKee is responsible for clinical quality management and supervision of the clinical staff who provide confidential counseling to employees of LifeSolutions, consultation to managers of contracting entities regarding employee performance, counseling employees for personal and work-related problems and participating in providing Critical Incident Stress Management. Ms. McKee is trained as a registered nurse with extensive background in behavioral health and addiction. She has worked in a variety of settings including inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, community mental health settings and private practice. Ms. McKee has been in leadership roles within these organizations for the past 20 years.

Ms. McKee earned her Associate Degree in nursing from Butler County Community College, her Bachelor's Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Rehabilitation Education, and her Master's Degree in Counseling Education with an emphasis in Addiction from The Pennsylvania State University.

Gianina Downs, MSCP, LPC, NCC
Director of NSC and Operations

Ms. Downs supervises the day-to-day proceedings of the National Service Center while continuing to deliver direct services.

She has worked in the employee assistance field and with LifeSolutions for 5 years. She began as a Care Manager, was promoted to Senior Care Manager, and most recently in February 2015, was promoted to Supervisor.

She was previously employed at Mon Yough Community Services as an Intake and Crisis Clinician as well as a Counselor. Under this role, she was actively involved in the Allegheny County Maternal Depression Initiative while acting as the main agency contact for pregnant women in need of behavioral health services. Ms. Downs has also worked as an Intake Specialist and Counselor at Pyramid Healthcare, a Pittsburgh-based substance abuse program.

Ms. Downs obtained her master's degree in Counseling & Psychology from Chatham University, is licensed as a Professional Counselor, and is also a National Certified Counselor.

Victoria Deans, LCSW
Program Manager, Resident and Fellow Assistance Program
Physicians' Assistance Program

Victoria Deans, LCSW, is the Program Manager for the Resident and Fellow Assistance Program and the Physicians' Assistance Program at UPMC LifeSolutions. She works with UPMC physicians, residents and fellows to address workplace and personal matters in order to optimize their interpersonal skills. Ms. Deans provides preventive programs, including trainings and presentations on relevant topics specific to overall well-being.

Victoria has over 18 years of clinical experience within the UPMC hospital system and in private practice, working with adults, couples and families who have difficulty with mood, relationships and trauma. She worked with the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic IT Project team to transition physicians and staff to a new EMR. She has also worked in an administrative role, facilitating orientations and trainings for staff members at WPIC.

Ms. Deans earned her master’s degree in Social Work from NYU and has received specialized training in EMDR and DBT therapy.
